About Rockville Chorus, Inc.
Originally formed in 1972 as Rockville Chorus, the group has been newly incorporated within the State of Maryland and is working towards obtaining their 501(c)3 non-profit determination. Rockville Chorus, Inc. is dedicated to enriching our community through the power of choral music. The group strives to inspire, educate, and connect individuals by fostering a welcoming space for singers of all backgrounds and skill levels and audiences of all ages. Through dynamic performances, community engagement, and a passion for musical excellence, this choral group brings people together to share
in the joy of song! Rockville Chorus, Inc. is a vibrant and dedicated musical organization consisting of 75 adult volunteer singers who perform a wide variety of musical genres and styles of choral music, embracing everything from classical and contemporary works to folk, jazz, and pop arrangements. As part of our commitment to community service, Rockville Chorus proudly performs an annual benefit concert in support of the Rockville Emergency Assistance Program, helping those most vulnerable and in need within our community. In 2023, the chorus began singing the National Anthem at minor league
baseball games during the summer season!

Who We Are:

Rockville Chorus began in 1972 and is an award-winning chorus managed by the City of Rockville Department of Recreation and Parks, Arts Division.

Rockville Chorus is under the musical direction of Linda Garrettson.

Rockville Chorus is comprised of approximately 85 volunteer members who have been selected through an audition process and enjoy performing a varied repertoire.
What We Do:

Provide free choral concerts for the Rockville community and regional audiences.

Present two concerts annually (May and December) in the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at Rockville Civic Center Park.

Perform many other concerts throughout the immediate region in a variety of venues.

Sing a varied repertoire that often features works from leading composers including Bach, Britten, Mozart, Rutter, Hindemuth, Thompson, Vaughan Williams, Shaw, as well as many others. The Rockville Chorus also periodically performs/introduces works by local composers.

Rehearse weekly Monday evenings.
How to Audition:
If you are interested in joining Rockville Chorus, please click the Sing with Us! button above. Auditions are held at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. It is a low-stress audition in which you sing scales and musical chords with our Director. No preparation is necessary!

We are currently accepting Tenors and Baritones/Basses only (Fall 2025).

Rehearsals:
Rockville Chorus practices every Monday evening from 7:30-9:00 pm at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre Social Hall (downstairs back entrance). 603 Edmonston Dr, Rockville

Concerts:
Rockville Chorus annually performs two major concerts, in May and December. The chorus also performs for local holiday events in and around the Rockville area, as well as outreach at various local senior living communities and assisted living facilities. Rockville Chorus has performed on stage in 2023 and 2024 in the Kennedy Center's Messiah Sing-Along.

Membership Fee & Dues:
Rockville Chorus is a course offered through the City of Rockville, with an annual membership fee of $50 paid online to the City of Rockville. New members must audition and be accepted by the Music Director in order to register for the course. Rockville Chorus also collects dues in the amount of $55 per semester, to cover music fees and operating costs, paid directly to Rockville Chorus during Registration Night.

The Rockville Chorus Board is comprised of chorus members and provides administration and oversight for the organization.
